The organization supports Canadians across the country in reaching homeownership through flexible mortgage products. Its insured GIC offerings provide competitive returns and are distributed through a range of wealth management channels.

Based in Toronto, Ontario, Haventree Bank is a purpose-led lender serving customers who are often overlooked by the conventional financial system. The bank’s name reflects its aim to provide refuge and help people build stronger financial foundations for the future.

Role Overview

The Financial Analyst, FP&A will be the key point person for detailed non-interest expense reporting, budget management, tracking, and variance analysis within the FP&A function. The role also supports dashboard creation, management reporting, and decision support for leadership and cross-functional partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and coordinate detailed reporting, budgeting, tracking, and variance analysis for non-interest expenses.
  • Build, update, and maintain Tableau dashboards focused on expenses and other important business metrics.
  • Work with Finance colleagues and project managers to develop business cases for projects and assess the financial effect of new initiatives and strategic decisions.
  • Prepare executive-ready materials and reports using Tableau, PowerPoint, and other presentation tools.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual planning and reporting processes.

Qualifications and Experience

A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related discipline is required. The ideal candidate is pursuing or has already earned a professional designation such as CPA or CFA.

The role typically calls for at least 2 years of experience in finance, reporting, or accounting, with financial services experience considered beneficial. Candidates should be highly proficient in Excel and familiar with planning and reporting platforms such as Adaptive Insights and Tableau.

Strong communication skills are important, especially the ability to explain technical subject matter in a clear and approachable way. The position also requires strong attention to detail, sound problem-solving ability, experience working with and analyzing large datasets, and the capacity to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities.
