About the Role
One Federal Solution is looking for a seasoned Financial Analyst to join their team supporting a government client. The position involves providing comprehensive budgetary, financial management, and analytical assistance for regional operations. The analyst will play a critical role in budget planning, financial reporting, funds monitoring, reconciliation, and executive-level reporting while ensuring strict adherence to federal financial standards and protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in creating, executing, and overseeing annual and multi-year budgets.
- Examine financial data, spending patterns, and budgetary trends to aid management's decision-making process.
- Generate regular and special financial reports, budget overviews, and summary briefings for executives.
- Monitor obligations, expenses, and available budgets to guarantee precise financial documentation.
- Conduct reconciliation of financial records and identify areas requiring correction.
- Support activities related to budget development, execution, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
- Ensure all financial transactions comply with relevant federal policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with both internal teams and external parties on budget-related financial issues.
- Investigate financial matters and propose improvements for accounting procedures.
- Prepare detailed spreadsheets, presentations, and documentation to assist leadership.
- Maintain and organize financial records, supporting documents, and reporting systems.
- Contribute to special financial initiatives and additional assigned tasks.
- Work closely across multiple organizational units to meet mission goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- At least 8 years’ experience in project or program management or related professional roles.
- Minimum of 5 years handling analytical tasks in budgeting, financial management, or accounting.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Skilled in detailed research and analysis of financial and technical information.
- Capable of interpreting management directives, policies, and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Experience creating financial reports, spreadsheets, and executive presentations.
- Excellent analytical thinking, organizational skills, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Adept at working independently and cooperatively while juggling multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in supporting federal government budgets or financial management programs.
- Experience with budget creation, implementation, and reporting processes.
- Familiarity with federal financial management systems.
- Adept at preparing financial reports and briefings for executive leadership.
- Understanding of federal appropriations, budget controls, and financial processes.
- Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting functions.
