Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join a dynamic and expanding organisation located in South Dublin. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement and involves taking full responsibility for financial reporting, ensuring statutory compliance, and driving process enhancements within a collaborative finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the month-end closing activities, guaranteeing the accurate and prompt completion of journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and management reports.
- Draft statutory financial statements for entities in Ireland and the UK, adhering to local GAAP and IFRS standards.
- Lead the external audit lifecycle from initial planning to finalisation, serving as the main liaison for auditors, preparing necessary audit documentation, and resolving auditor inquiries.
- Handle corporation tax, VAT, and other compliance requirements by collaborating closely with external tax consultants to ensure timely and precise submissions.
- Drive improvements within finance processes by enhancing reporting accuracy, reinforcing financial controls, and promoting automation and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Accredited accountant qualification such as ACA, ACC, or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in managing month-end close processes, financial reporting, and preparing statutory accounts.
- Demonstrated ability in liaising with external auditors and managing the annual audit procedures.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Irish tax compliance, including VAT and corporation tax obligations.
- Strong familiarity with Irish GAAP and IFRS; experience with UK financial reporting is advantageous.
- Exceptional organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and meeting statutory deadlines consistently.
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities and a mindset focused on continuous improvement.
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral, to foster strong relationships within the organization and with external parties.
