About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified accountant to advance their career within a prominent global investment firm. You will join a dynamic finance department, contributing significantly to financial reporting, enhancing processes, and supporting strategic decisions. This role offers direct collaboration with senior management, the chance to shape financial controls, and to be part of the company's ongoing expansion.
As a Newly Qualified Financial Accountant, your primary focus will be on collaborating with the broader team to conduct financial analysis and oversee the trading Profit & Loss (P&L) and balance sheet for a trading entity.
Responsibilities
- Generate monthly reporting packages for various group entities and present key findings to management committees.
- Facilitate audits and year-end reporting by preparing necessary audit schedules, statutory financial statements, and addressing auditor inquiries.
- Oversee and maintain accounting systems, ensuring adherence to GAAP, IFRS 9, and IFRS 13 standards, including managing fair value accounting, monthly revaluations, and fair value hierarchy categorizations.
- Manage all aspects of intercompany accounting, encompassing monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and the allocation of management fees.
- Spearhead initiatives for process enhancement and control strengthening through automation of reconciliations, optimization of closing procedures, and support for system-related projects.
Qualifications
- Must hold ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualification.
- Possess at least 2 years of experience in audit or accounting, ideally within wealth & asset management or the financial services sector.
- Experience gained from a Big 4 or Top 20 practice firm is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience with IFRS reporting.
- Proven track record in supporting audits and statutory reporting processes.
- Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
