Job description

About the Role

This position sits within an innovative, rapidly expanding agricultural technology business that delivers automation-led solutions to improve farm performance. The company is hiring a practical, well-organized, and detail-oriented Business Support Financial Accountant to strengthen financial governance, support day-to-day business control, and enhance administrative workflows across the organization.

The role is central to maintaining reliable accounts, supporting compliance, contributing to strategic decisions, and continuously improving business support processes.

Financial Control and Reporting

  • Oversee general ledger activities and coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Compile management accounts including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Examine journal postings, balance schedules, and account reconciliations.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for external accountants and auditors.

Tax, Compliance and Audit

  • Prepare VAT submissions and corporate tax returns.
  • Help ensure all fiscal and legal obligations are met.
  • Support audit preparation and strengthen internal control procedures.
  • Make sure reporting is consistent with both local and international accounting standards.

Business Control and Financial Planning

  • Convert business goals into financial implications and actionable insights.
  • Track margins, cost bases, stock valuation, and overall profitability.
  • Develop investment appraisals and financial analyses.
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and Business Review meetings.
  • Deliver analytical input and recommendations to the management team.

Project and Operational Administration

  • Handle ERP-based projects, including budgets, costs, hours, cost of goods sold, and margin analysis.
  • Monitor budget variances and report on project outcomes.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Manage debtor follow-up, credit control, and supplier coordination.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure process adherence.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement ways to improve financial and business support operations.
  • Raise the quality of reporting and increase administrative efficiency.
