The position includes direct supervision and mentoring of three Financial Analysts, nurturing a culture centered on analytics excellence and proactive collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of three skilled Financial Analysts, fostering independence while offering strategic guidance during complex departmental negotiations.
- Define and manage analysts’ focus areas collaboratively, ensuring autonomy with appropriate support.
- Advocate for team career progression by identifying challenging opportunities, enabling mastery of SaaS financial metrics, and removing obstacles to promotion.
- Partner with the team to streamline and automate financial models and reporting processes, improving efficiency and work-life balance.
- Manage, forecast, and optimize expenses including COGS categories like cloud hosting (AWS, Azure, GCP), customer experience, and customer success, as well as OpEx in sales, marketing, product, and R&D.
- Lead regular budget-to-actual variance analyses to highlight risks and identify efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate with revenue and data teams to monitor significant SaaS KPIs such as LTV:CAC, Magic Number, Net Revenue Retention, Rule of 40, and gross/net margins.
- Act as a finance partner for leadership in engineering, product, marketing, and sales, supporting headcount and program budget models.
- Assess the effectiveness of sales commissions, marketing campaigns, and customer success capacity to optimize acquisition and retention economics.
Qualifications and Skills
- Certified accountant with recognized qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA).
- At least 5 years of experience in corporate finance, FP&A, or investment banking; SaaS experience of 2+ years preferred.
- Proven leadership experience with 1-2 years managing or mentoring junior financial analysts.
- In-depth knowledge of SaaS accounting principles, including distinctions between COGS and OpEx categories.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling using Excel or Google Sheets, capable of building complex, dynamic driver-based models.
- Experience with FP&A tools such as Anaplan, Planful, Adaptive Insights, and ERP systems like NetSuite.
- Strong familiarity with BI platforms like Looker or Tableau for analyzing cloud infrastructure and related data.
- Exceptional communication skills for simplifying complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
- Confident and assertive in challenging assumptions and budget proposals using data-driven arguments.
Benefits and Additional Information
- Equity ownership through company stock options.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and fertility health coverage.
- Paid family and caregiver leave policies.
- Employee assistance programs to support wellbeing.
- Generous vacation allocation and 4 company-designated wellness days yearly.
- A one-time €435 allowance for home office setup.
- Retirement pension plan with 5% company matching contributions.
- Continuous learning opportunities via online education platforms and career development resources.
