This is a strategic finance leadership opportunity based in Canada, supporting several client portfolios in founder-led consumer and retail businesses. Key accountabilities

• Take ownership of financial data across several client portfolios, maintaining accuracy, consistency, and timely reporting of KPIs, margins, and performance metrics.
• Work closely with accounting and controllership teams to review financial statements, month-end close results, and reconciliation workflows from source systems through executive reporting.
• Create and update board packs, executive dashboards, investor-facing presentations, and finance analysis that support strategic decisions.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across multiple engagements while keeping outputs aligned with business targets.
• Construct advanced financial models, including three-statement models, long-range forecasts, scenario plans, and sensitivity analyses.
• Review unit economics, pricing, channel results, vendor terms, and cost drivers to surface risks and opportunities for better margins.
• Support strategic conversations with CFOs, founders, and leadership teams by turning financial data into clear recommendations.
• Contribute to fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, and diligence work through investor materials, cash flow analysis, and capital allocation models.

Required experience and profile

• Bring 6 to 8 years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, financial operations, controllership, or a related finance discipline.
• Have strong ownership of planning cycles, executive reporting, dashboards, and full-cycle financial analysis.
• Demonstrate advanced financial modeling ability, including multi-year three-statement models, forecasting, scenario analysis, and cash flow review.
• Understand core accounting concepts such as accrual versus cash accounting, revenue recognition, COGS, inventory accounting, and reconciliations.
• Have experience in consumer-facing business models such as retail, DTC, omnichannel, CPG, beauty, or similar sectors.
• Communicate complex financial insights with confidence and clarity to CFOs, founders, and other senior leaders.
• Be comfortable managing several client engagements at the same time while maintaining accuracy, prioritization, and sound judgment.
• Experience in multi-client, consulting, or portfolio-based finance settings is considered an advantage.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, BI tools, or comparable systems is beneficial.
• Exposure to fundraising, M&A, lender reporting, or investor relations is a strong plus.
• Experience using AI tools or automation to streamline finance workflows is also an advantage.
