Role overview
Binti is hiring an analytical and strategic Finance and Accounting Associate. This position suits someone with strong attention to detail and experience in finance or accounting who wants to contribute in a fast-moving, purpose-led environment. The role combines day-to-day finance operations such as invoicing, insurance coordination, and payment handling with efforts to improve and modernize financial and operational workflows.
In addition to core finance duties, the role includes supporting data-driven initiatives that help strengthen internal efficiency. Your analysis and process improvements will play an important part in supporting the company’s financial and operational performance.
Work location
This is a San Francisco-based role requiring in-office presence at least on Mondays and Thursdays.
Key responsibilities
- Support internal data infrastructure by extracting and transforming data automatically, writing queries, and building dashboards that provide useful insights to internal teams.
- Create and send customer invoices, track incoming payments, follow up on overdue balances, apply receipts in Maxio, and communicate with customers about outstanding amounts.
- Reconcile customer accounts and investigate or resolve any differences or billing issues.
- Review and process employee expense claims in Ramp, including home office stipends, travel-related reimbursements, and other approved expenses.
- Help prepare monthly compliance reporting for banks and investors, along with quarterly investor updates.
- Run payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including commission calculations.
- Prepare recurring reports on receivables, aging, and collection activity, and assist the CFO with cash flow forecasts and financial scenario analysis.
Sample projects
- Use SQL to create reports and dashboards from production data.
- Build saved materialized views to make data easier to access and to support self-service reporting.
- Improve invoicing accuracy by documenting customer-specific billing requirements.
- Set up a structured process for contract renewal tracking to improve visibility and financial accuracy.
- Help develop departmental income statements.
- Strengthen ARR tracking processes and related documentation.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required.
- At least 3 years of experience in accounting or finance is expected.
- Experience in SaaS or subscription-based businesses is an added advantage.
- Strong organizational ability and exceptional attention to detail are essential.
- Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills are required, including formulas, pivot tables, and macros; SQL or similar database querying is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with good interpersonal ability, are important.
- The role requires solid problem-solving skills and the ability to manage several priorities at once.
- Knowledge of accounting concepts is required; familiarity with tools such as Maxio, QuickBooks, and Ramp is beneficial.
- You should be able to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
