Job Summary

Hartree Partners is seeking an AI Enablement Analyst to join the Applied AI & Insights team, reporting to the Applied AI & Insights Manager. This role is crucial for integrating AI-powered analytics and automating workflows within Treasury and FP&A functions using our proprietary Agentic AI platform. The focus is on embedding AI into existing financial processes such as liquidity reporting, forecasting, management reporting, and executive analytics. While business requirements are typically well-defined, your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with Treasury and FP&A stakeholders to transform these needs into robust, production-ready AI agents and automated processes. This position emphasizes prompt engineering and AI workflow enablement rather than traditional software development, making it ideal for individuals with backgrounds in Treasury, FP&A, trading finance, or finance technology who are keen on modernizing financial operations through structured AI systems.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Collaborate directly with Treasury and FP&A teams to deliver AI-driven analytics that meet established reporting and forecasting objectives.
  • Convert fixed or recurring business requirements into structured agent workflows, precise prompts, and effective evaluation frameworks within Hartree’s proprietary Agentic AI platform.
  • Develop AI agents specifically for:
    • Analysis of liquidity and cash positioning.
    • Short- and medium-term cash flow forecasting.
    • Reporting on debt and capital structure.
    • Tracking budget versus forecast performance.
    • Drafting variance analysis and commentary.
    • Creating executive and Board-ready financial summaries.
  • Optimize prompt design and agent logic to ensure outputs are accurate, controlled, and adhere to finance governance standards.
  • Automate routine workflows associated with monthly closing, forecast updates, treasury reporting cycles, and management reporting packages.
  • Perform structured testing and validation to confirm AI outputs meet required accuracy and reliability benchmarks.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and facilitate user adoption among Treasury and FP&A teams.

Requirements: Education, Competencies & Skills

  • Possess 2–4 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: Treasury, FP&A, Trading Finance/Product Control, or Finance Systems/IT supporting finance departments.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, budgeting and forecasting cycles, and variance analysis for executive reporting.
  • Exhibit high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with structured financial data.
  • Ability to engage effectively with Finance stakeholders in a structured, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a closely related field.

Preferred Requirements

  • Prior experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, AI agents, or workflow automation tools.
  • Familiarity with treasury systems, ERP platforms, or financial consolidation tools.
  • Experience in automating recurring finance processes, such as close cycles, forecast refreshes, or reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for analytics or automation (beneficial but not mandatory).
  • Proven experience in building or experimenting with GPTs or structured AI workflows.

What Success Looks Like

  • Enhanced automation and consistent delivery of Treasury reporting (liquidity, exposures, funding views).
  • Accelerated and less manual generation of FP&A variance analysis and management commentary.
  • Increased trust from Finance stakeholders in AI outputs due to their structured, repeatable nature and alignment with defined reporting standards. The proprietary Agentic AI platform is utilized as a reliable production tool.
