FIFO Handyperson / Baggage Handler

Role overview

This is a permanent full-time position based in Perth, Western Australia, within the utility function. The role sits in a remote mining village environment and combines general handyperson work with support across the wider utility team.

Working arrangement

• Roster pattern: 2 weeks on, 1 week off.
• Daily shift length: 12 hours.
• Meals, accommodation, and a full uniform are provided.

Key duties

• Carry out non-trade maintenance tasks around camp, such as changing locks, door handles, and washers.
• Support general camp upkeep and repairs as needed.
• Clean shared areas by emptying bins, sweeping, mopping, and completing general cleaning tasks.
• Step in to assist with housekeeping and kitchen hand duties when required.
• Help load and unload trucks on delivery days.
• Perform gardening and grounds maintenance work.
• Handle baggage as part of village operations.

Skills and experience needed

• Previous background working as a handyperson.
• A current Australian driver's licence.
• Forklift licence preferred.
• Dangerous Goods certificate preferred.
• National Police Clearance obtained within the last 6 months, or willingness to secure one.
• Comfort working collaboratively in a team environment.
• A motivated, upbeat, and proactive attitude.
• Ability to operate effectively in a busy, fast-moving setting.
• Physical fitness to manage long shifts and repetitive tasks.
• Capability to work in heat, cold, humidity, and adverse weather conditions.
