Role overview
This is a permanent full-time position based in Perth, Western Australia, within the utility function. The role sits in a remote mining village environment and combines general handyperson work with support across the wider utility team.
Working arrangement
- Roster pattern: 2 weeks on, 1 week off.
- Daily shift length: 12 hours.
- Meals, accommodation, and a full uniform are provided.
Key duties
- Carry out non-trade maintenance tasks around camp, such as changing locks, door handles, and washers.
- Support general camp upkeep and repairs as needed.
- Clean shared areas by emptying bins, sweeping, mopping, and completing general cleaning tasks.
- Step in to assist with housekeeping and kitchen hand duties when required.
- Help load and unload trucks on delivery days.
- Perform gardening and grounds maintenance work.
- Handle baggage as part of village operations.
Skills and experience needed
- Previous background working as a handyperson.
- A current Australian driver's licence.
- Forklift licence preferred.
- Dangerous Goods certificate preferred.
- National Police Clearance obtained within the last 6 months, or willingness to secure one.
- Comfort working collaboratively in a team environment.
- A motivated, upbeat, and proactive attitude.
- Ability to operate effectively in a busy, fast-moving setting.
- Physical fitness to manage long shifts and repetitive tasks.
- Capability to work in heat, cold, humidity, and adverse weather conditions.
