Job description
Role Summary
The Field Officer position involves implementing diabetes awareness initiatives in schools and communities within Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The role includes facilitating teacher training, supporting educators in delivering awareness sessions to students, engaging parents through meetings, and conducting community outreach to identify local diabetes ambassadors.
Responsibilities
- Conduct teacher training sessions using the KiDS manual in designated schools.
- Assist trained teachers in facilitating diabetes awareness lessons for students.
- Organize and lead parent-teacher meetings in project areas.
- Map communities associated with each project school and implement community awareness meetings.
- Identify and empower diabetes ambassadors in the community to sustain ongoing awareness efforts beyond the project timeline.
- Maintain systematic documentation of all field activities and compile data for submission to supervisors.
- Collaborate with monitoring and evaluation officers to provide data and inputs for program reporting.
- Keep thorough records of health referrals, forms, and related documentation.
- Undertake approximately 20 days per month of field travel, with logistics support provided.
Requirements
- Postgraduate degree in Home Science, Nutrition, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- At least three years of experience in development, health, education, or nutrition programs at the district level.
- Familiarity with the education department system in Uttar Pradesh.
- Competence in MS Excel for data entry and report generation.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in Hindi and English.
- Self-driven with the capability to work autonomously in field environments with minimal supervision.
