About the Company

Shift is a platform that pays everyday workers for filming brief videos of tasks they already perform in places like kitchens, workshops, job sites, and warehouses. These videos help train the next generation of AI and robotics. The company has already paid out more than $5M to over 25,000 workers in 15+ countries and is now expanding into skilled trades across the UK.

Role Overview

As a Field Acquisition Specialist, you will help expand Shift’s network of trade businesses directly in the field. Your focus will be on visiting local businesses in person, introducing the opportunity to owners and teams, and helping them get set up to earn extra income through the Shift app. This is not a traditional sales role; the goal is to connect businesses with a new way for workers to get paid for work they already do every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visit small trade businesses face to face, including manufacturers, plumbers, electricians, automotive businesses, construction firms, and similar operators.
  • Present the earning opportunity in a clear and confident way, while addressing questions and skepticism immediately.
  • Enroll business owners and their teams, hand out recording headgear, and guide them through downloading and setting up the app.
  • Check in with new users to ensure they successfully make and submit their first recordings.
  • Maintain records of outreach activity, conversion results, and active users, and report on what is working in the field.
  • Bring back insights from local visits to help improve the pitch and target businesses more effectively.

Candidate Profile

  • You are based in the UK.
  • You are comfortable approaching people and businesses in person, even when the outreach is cold, and you can handle rejection without losing drive.
  • You communicate persuasively and naturally, and can explain a new idea in a way that quickly builds trust.
  • You work well independently and can manage your own schedule in the field without close oversight.
  • You are organised and able to track leads and carry onboarding through to completion.
  • You have dependable transport and are willing to cover your local area.
  • Experience in door-to-door outbound sales would be an advantage.
  • Previous relationships with, or familiarity in, the skilled trades is a plus.
