Division Overview

The Fixed Income Division encompasses Interest Rate and Currency Products, Credit Products, and Distribution. Team members manage risk actively, trade securities, and craft as well as execute innovative deals within dynamic global markets. Our Commodities Division leads across various commodities sectors, bringing expertise in client risk management, financing options, and investor product sales and trading.

The UK Inflation desk serves as the firm’s main trading hub for inflation-linked instruments based on UK inflation indices. Its focus is on delivering market-making and execution services for inflation-linked bonds and derivative products to corporate and institutional clients.

Role Summary

  • Join the trading team handling Inflation/Rates products such as Bonds, Swaps, Inflation-linked instruments, and Options in the EMEA region.
  • Begin by learning the diverse range of traded products, progressing to trading flow products, and eventually managing more complex instruments as experience grows.
  • Function as a market maker for UK Inflation products by engaging in relative value trading and hedging activities supporting both corporate and institutional clients.
  • Produce and share market insights on customer flows, trading ideas, and commentary on a daily and intra-daily basis.
  • Oversee daily profit and loss reporting, leveraging specialized quantitative expertise for relative value evaluations, financial data modeling, and complex valuations.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • A quantitative undergraduate degree in a STEM field such as Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Science, or Engineering.
  • Strong analytical prowess focusing on numerical analysis, financial modeling, and data science methodologies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Fixed Income instruments, particularly specializing in Interest Rates.
  • A disciplined and strong work ethic dedicated to consistent client market-making and reliable distribution of daily market information.
  • Experience in developing trading and risk management models.
  • Ability to write detailed trading commentary and effectively present trading ideas and strategies.
  • Effective networking skills, comfortable interacting with clients, sales teams, and traders.
  • Strong experience in people management, collaborating with infrastructure partners, and building trading systems and analytics.
