About the Role
Girls Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to empowering girls to be strong, smart, and bold through direct services and advocacy, is seeking a Marketing and Communications Intern. This opportunity is based at their New York headquarters with a hybrid work schedule, supporting various communication and marketing initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and managing content for Girls Inc.'s social media platforms, including Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
- Contribute to creating diverse written materials such as website content, email campaigns, press releases, media lists, factsheets, and memos.
- Monitor and stay informed on current news and issues affecting girls and young women aligned to Girls Inc.'s mission.
- Support the organization and execution of fundraising events.
- Help fulfill requests from the Affiliate Network and corporate partners as needed.
Schedule and Duration
The internship runs from September to December 2026, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring two days per week onsite at Girls Inc.'s office.
Qualifications
- Strong writing skills adaptable to multiple channels and platforms.
- Experience with social media content creation and campaign support is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
- A passionate interest in issues surrounding girls and women’s rights, gender equality, and social justice.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office is expected; familiarity with Canva is advantageous.
Compensation and Application
- Stipends are available: $1,500 for full-time (35 hours/week) interns, $750 for part-time.
- College credit can be arranged.
