Facilities Management Engineer

Role overview

This position is for a Facilities Management Engineer based in Abu Dhabi, working on a 12-month extendable contract within the real estate and property management sector. Key responsibilities

• Handle transition, handover, and final close-out records for newly acquired or completed properties and assets.
• Supervise day-to-day facilities management activities across residential and commercial sites.
• Track contractor and service provider delivery to ensure alignment with KPIs, SLAs, and contract terms.
• Drive preventive, corrective, and reactive maintenance programs so the properties remain operational and well maintained.
• Lead facilities inspectors and coordinate their operational work.
• Assist with health, safety, environmental, and other regulatory compliance obligations.
• Draft operational reports, audit findings, recommendations, and continuous improvement plans.
• Contribute to energy-saving measures and broader operational efficiency initiatives.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering is required.
• At least 10 years of experience in facilities management is expected, with 3 or more years specifically handling residential and commercial properties.
• Applicants should have a solid understanding of integrated FM operations, maintenance management, and contractor oversight.
• Working knowledge of MS Office, CAFM platforms, and AutoCAD is preferred.
• Strong ability in stakeholder coordination, reporting, and team leadership is essential.
