Role overview
We are seeking a Fabrication Supervisor to be based in Henderson, Western Australia. This position is responsible for running day-to-day site activity across assigned projects in a safe and controlled manner, while ensuring the right trades are coordinated so the Project Manager’s instructions are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the expected quality standard.
This is a senior supervisory role with a strong emphasis on growing people through coaching, training, and mentoring, with the aim of helping team members progress toward Project Manager responsibilities.
Key duties
- Organise and plan daily and weekly work for the team, making sure instructions and priorities are communicated clearly.
- Spot risks, blockers, or resourcing issues that could affect delivery and involve the relevant stakeholders when needed.
- Keep projects moving so they finish on time, stay within budget, and meet quality and safety expectations.
- Handle stakeholder communication and help manage expectations throughout the life of each project.
- Lead team development through reviews, counselling, and regular mentoring, while dealing with employee-related matters in line with company policy.
- Assist with Operational Quality Evaluations by preparing submissions and providing support as required.
- Oversee compliance with procedures on the ground, share feedback with the QA team and other stakeholders, and help maintain standards for tasks and projects.
- Coordinate subcontractors by sourcing quotes, raising purchase orders, and checking that completed work matches the required specifications and quality standards.
Requirements
- A trade qualification in a relevant discipline is required.
- You should have demonstrated experience in a supervisory position.
- Background in defence, commercial, fabrication, maintenance, or heavy industry settings is expected.
- Experience in marine work or ship repair is considered a strong advantage.
Work location and hours
This role is based in Henderson, WA and is best suited to people who already live locally or within the Perth metropolitan area.
Working pattern includes Monday to Thursday, 10 hours per day, for a total of 40 hours each week. Friday and Saturday overtime opportunities may be available. The role offers the benefit of being home every night, with no FIFO requirement.
