Production Coordinator - Cairns

In this Cairns-based role, you will coordinate production activities so supervisors and contractors have a clear, practical plan for delivering their work. You will help ensure each scope is carried out on time, within budget, and to the required quality standard, while maintaining a safe workplace.

Key duties

• Set up daily and weekly task plans for the assigned project area.
• Spot risks, blockers, or constraints that could affect delivery and involve the relevant stakeholders early.
• Escalate issues promptly and work with others to resolve risks and constraints.
• Support the preparation and submission of OQE documentation when needed.
• Observe procedure execution and share feedback with the QA team so procedures stay aligned with the work being performed.
• Coordinate subcontractors by seeking quotes, issuing purchase orders, and confirming work is completed to specification.
• Carry out employee performance reviews and counselling discussions.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for improvement and corrective actions.
• Implement HSEQ standards across the work area.

What you’ll need

• A relevant trade qualification.
• Experience in project coordination, supervision, or a similar leadership role.
• Strong leadership capability, including interpersonal skills, people management, communication, coaching, and team development.
• Confident computer use, including Microsoft Office and commercial CMMS systems.
• Good skills in time management, planning resources, and scheduling work.
• Eligibility to obtain a Defence Security Clearance and a Defence Common Access Card (DCAC).
• Marine or ship repair experience is preferred.
• Experience on defence-related projects is preferred.
