Role overview

This non-exempt hourly position is part of the extrusion operation team in Long Sault, Ontario. The role involves handling finished sheet goods, supporting trim and masking activities, maintaining product quality, and assisting with material movement and line support duties in a rotating-shift environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lift and pull finished sheet product from the production line, including loads up to 93 lbs.
• Check sheets for correct width, length, and diagonal measurements.
• Inspect finished product visually for surface or quality issues.
• Centre completed goods on skids and racks.
• Set up and maintain masking positions.
• Apply edge tape as required.
• Remove trim, place it on racks, and label it appropriately.
• Communicate masking, rack, and skid needs to the forklift driver.
• Adjust trim knives when different widths are needed.
• Operate the cutter PLC to modify sheet cut lengths as required.
• Keep the work area tidy and organized.
• Cut sheets for the granulator and manage trim material flow.
• Complete finished goods labels and apply ID stickers.
• Support related tasks assigned by the supervisor.
• Troubleshoot and operate trim cutters and feed trim stock material.
• Drive a forklift to load trucks or receive incoming material.
• Perform hand loading, build skids, and granulate trim into boxes and hoppers.

Schedule and working conditions

Successful candidates must be available for rotating shifts. The role may follow either an 8-hour continental schedule on a 5-day cycle or a 12-hour continental schedule on a 7-day cycle. A shift premium of 4.5% applies to hours worked between 7:00 pm and 7:00 am.

Requirements
