Job description

About the Company

Lumina Advisors is a creative consultancy focused on shaping better experiences in built spaces through design. The team develops environmental graphics, wayfinding programs, placemaking concepts, and branded environments that are both practical and visually compelling. Its remote-first setup supports collaboration, continuous growth, creativity, and a balanced work life, while valuing diverse viewpoints and strong teamwork.

About the Role

Lumina Advisors is looking for a motivated Experiential Graphic Designer (EGD) with a strong eye for detail to support the design team. This role suits a junior-to-mid-level designer who wants to build expertise in environmental graphic design, wayfinding, and placemaking. You will contribute across the full project cycle, including concept exploration, client-facing presentations, construction documentation, fabrication coordination, and installation support. The role includes mentoring and professional development to help strengthen both creative and technical capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Create design directions for environmental graphics, wayfinding systems, and placemaking initiatives.
  • Build presentation decks, mood boards, concept sketches, diagrams, and other client-ready visuals.
  • Develop wayfinding layouts, schematic design alternatives, elevations, renderings, and visual mockups.
  • Support the production of construction documents and artwork prepared for fabrication.
  • Design signage, donor recognition features, branded spaces, and other environmental graphic elements.
  • Work closely with project managers, architects, fabricators, and other design professionals.
  • Evaluate shop drawings, material samples, prototypes, and fabrication inputs.
  • Assist with construction administration by helping track fabrication and installation quality.
  • Maintain consistency, accuracy, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Contribute in brainstorming sessions, design critiques, and client discussions.
  • Keep project files and documentation organized through each stage of the work.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Environmental Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design, or a closely related field.
  • Between 1 and 5 years of professional experience in graphic design or experiential design.
  • A portfolio that shows strong capability in typography, branding, visual design, and presentations.
  • Prior exposure to signage, wayfinding, environmental graphics, exhibition design, or placemaking is preferred.
  • Understanding of construction documentation and production artwork is an added advantage.
  • Experience working with architects, fabricators, or multidisciplinary teams is desirable.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving, collaborative, and creative environment.
  • Strong graphic design, visual communication, and typography skills.
  • Good grasp of layout, composition, color theory, and branding fundamentals.
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and think critically.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to quality output.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to handle several projects and deadlines at once.
  • Experience developing presentations, renderings, and visual concepts.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a remote team.
  • Preferred familiarity with environmental graphic design and wayfinding principles.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, and related design or visualization tools; Figma, SketchUp, Rhino, and AutoCAD are preferred.

Perks

  • Competitive compensation.
  • 100% remote work setup.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Mentorship and ongoing professional development.
  • Collaborative studio-style culture.
  • Supportive environment that encourages work-life balance.
  • Opportunities to contribute to high-profile experiential design work.
  • Clear room for career growth and continuous learning.
  • Exposure to multidisciplinary design and placemaking projects.
