Position Overview

The Executive Director leads the West Palm Beach Mobility Coalition (WPBgo) as its chief executive, providing strategic direction and operational management to enhance mobility solutions, transportation demand management, and collaborative partnerships. The role aims to improve access, alleviate congestion, and foster economic growth in West Palm Beach by guiding daily organizational functions, implementing initiatives set by the Board, and managing key programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive WPBgo's strategic vision, setting goals and executing the annual business plan.
  • Seek opportunities to broaden transportation services, partnerships, and funding channels.
  • Lead long-range planning to tackle regional mobility challenges while monitoring new transportation trends and technologies.
  • Manage transportation demand management programs, commuter services, and special projects, establishing KPIs related to ridership, employer engagement, emissions, and efficiency.
  • Utilize data analytics for continuous program improvement and ensure adherence to all relevant transport regulations and funding guidelines.
  • Oversee financial activities including budget management, grant writing and fundraising efforts, securing diverse funding to sustain organizational growth.
  • Serve as WPBgo’s principal liaison with governmental bodies, transit authorities, employers, and community groups, advocating for mobility initiatives and representing the organization publicly.
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors on governance, policy, and strategic growth, while leading, recruiting, and developing staff and consultants.
  • Promote public awareness campaigns and act as spokesperson to increase adoption of alternative transportation methods like transit, ridesharing, biking, and walking.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, Business, Public Policy or related fields; Master’s preferred.
  • At least 7 years of leadership experience in transportation, mobility management, public administration, nonprofit management, or economic development.
  • Proven skills in grant management, budgeting, partnership development, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience collaborating with boards, public and private entities, and funding sources.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Transportation Demand Management, multimodal systems, and transportation funding.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, public speaking, and interpersonal abilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Background with transportation demand management and commuter services promoting alternative transportation options.
  • Knowledge of Palm Beach County and South Florida regional transportation agencies and initiatives.
  • Experience working with Metropolitan Planning Organizations, transit agencies, employers, developers, and community partners.

Work Environment

This role is based in a professional office setting with regular engagement with public officials, business leaders, and community stakeholders. It may involve occasional evening meetings and travel within Palm Beach County and the South Florida area.
