Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced civil excavator operator to join a small, close-working team that values solid workmanship and a professional approach. This position is practical and site-based, suited to someone who is confident handling machinery, comfortable moving between different work locations, and willing to assist the crew on the ground when needed.

Key Duties

  • Run diggers, loaders, and other WTR-endorsed machinery on civil works projects.
  • Carry out earthmoving, excavation, and general site preparation tasks.
  • Assist with foundations, driveways, and infrastructure-related construction work.
  • Support the team on site whenever hands-on help is required.
  • Work in a safe, efficient manner on active construction sites.
  • Maintain high standards of finish and keep work areas neat and tidy.

What We Are Looking For

  • Demonstrated background operating excavators in civil construction.
  • Confidence working machinery in a range of site conditions.
  • Experience in excavation, drainage, foundations, or similar civil tasks.
  • A dependable work ethic and a positive, can-do mindset.
  • Ability to work well with colleagues and interact professionally with clients.
  • Good physical fitness and comfort with practical site-based work.

Success Standards

  • Arrive on time, ready, and prepared for the day.
  • Operate plant safely and competently, without taking shortcuts.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and crew members.
  • Take responsibility for your work and the area you are managing.
  • Leave sites clean, safe, and ready for the following day.

Licences And Tickets

You will need a Wheels, Tracks, Rollers endorsement and relevant machine-operating experience.
