Job description

About Smartwyre

Smartwyre is a venture-backed SaaS company launched in 2018. It builds enterprise software for large agricultural businesses and operates in a global sector worth about $400 billion. The company serves a supply chain that reaches roughly 5 million farmers and more than 5,000 distributors worldwide, working with organizations from major corporations to local farms. Smartwyre currently operates across the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, and South America.

The business is developing a B2B SaaS platform that connects the commercial operations of companies supplying seeds, fertilizer, chemicals, and related services to farmers. Its focus markets are the United States, Europe, and Latin America. The long-term plan is to deliver SaaS tools that solve commercial challenges such as pricing, costing, and quoting, then connect companies through a shared data platform for transactional exchanges, product information sharing, people networking, and user analytics. The platform is also intended to support new business models across the network.

About the Role

Smartwyre is looking for a part-time Events & Marketing Coordinator to help plan and deliver its North American events program. The position supports conferences, customer events, webinars, partner activities, and sponsorships, while helping create a smooth experience for attendees and assisting the broader Marketing team.

This is a strong fit for someone who is well organized, takes initiative, and can handle several priorities at the same time. It is especially suitable for an early-career professional with some background in marketing or events who wants to grow in a technology company.

Working Arrangement

This is a part-time contractor role with around 15 to 20 hours per week. The work is remote, though occasional travel to events may be needed.

Event Coordination and Logistics

  • Help plan and run industry conferences, trade shows, webinars, customer events, and partner activities.
  • Take care of event logistics such as registrations, attendee messages, vendors, venues, and event collateral.
  • Support booth setup, shipping, and branded materials.
  • Keep event calendars and project schedules up to date so deadlines are achieved.
  • Provide support during events, whether in person or online, when needed.

Event Marketing Support

  • Help draft and schedule emails, social content, and promotional assets tied to events.
  • Assist with attendee outreach and registration efforts.
  • Refresh event details across marketing systems and internal communication channels.
  • Coordinate post-event communications and survey follow-ups.

Partner and Stakeholder Coordination

  • Work with conference organizers, vendors, and partners to align event activities.
  • Support relationships with industry associations and event suppliers.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing to keep event execution running smoothly.

Reporting and Administration

  • Monitor registrations, attendance, and basic event performance data.
  • Keep event records, budgets, and invoices organized and accurate.
  • Help prepare post-event reports and identify ways to improve event workflows and attendee experience.

Experience and Fit

The role calls for 1 to 3 years of experience in events, marketing, administration, or project coordination. Candidates should bring strong organization, close attention to detail, and solid written and verbal communication skills. Comfort with Microsoft Office and web-based business tools is important, along with the ability to manage several deadlines and priorities at once.

Hands-on exposure to events, marketing campaigns, or customer-facing work is preferred. Experience with CRM or marketing platforms is useful but not mandatory.

Success Factors

Extra value will come from experience in SaaS, agribusiness, agriculture technology, supply chain technology, or enterprise software. Familiarity with channel partner or ecosystem-led growth models is also relevant. Experience using Dynamics, Gong, or similar systems, as well as work in fast-growing technology companies, would be an advantage.
