Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join PCI LYMO 585 operations in Londonderry, NH. This role involves preparing detailed estimates across various scopes of PCI's construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute quantitative takeoffs for construction projects.
- Determine labor productivity metrics to support estimates.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with local vendors to obtain competitive pricing on materials and equipment.
- Request and evaluate subcontractor bids for work outside of self-performed areas.
- Analyze market conditions including competition, backlog, and risk to appropriately determine margin percentages.
- Participate in internal bid reviews alongside supervisors and project teams.
- Engage with customers to foster alignment and maintain strong relationships.
- Manage contract administration duties for awarded projects.
- Use wage and benefit schedules accurately in preparing estimates.
- Coordinate with Operations team for smooth transition of secured projects.
- Assist with additional tasks such as change order management and billing as needed based on project demands.
- Collaborate with other Estimating team members to support product line initiatives.
Compensation
Annual salary ranges from $86,500 to $116,000, supplemented by a non-guaranteed annual bonus program.
Basic Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in construction project estimating.
- Familiarity with specialty construction scopes and their management.
- Strong skills in interpreting project specifications, drawings, materials, and methodologies pertinent to PCI’s work.
- Proven history of building and sustaining strong client relationships.
- Outstanding communication abilities, both verbal and written, along with excellent customer service skills.
- Keen attention to detail and adeptness in cost analysis.
- Capability to read and understand project schedules for sequencing and timing.
- Experience with takeoff and estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), Bluebeam Revu, Procore, or PlanSwift.
- Comprehensive understanding of estimating methods and bidding procedures.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Willingness and aptitude to acquire new technical skills and apply them effectively.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience managing or estimating specialty construction scopes.
- OSHA certification.
- Experience working with labor unions.
