Estimator - Commercial Roofing

About the Role

We are looking for a knowledgeable and meticulous Permanent Estimator to become an essential part of our team in the Construction sector. This position is critical to our organization's expansion and overall achievement, focusing heavily on cost control, project estimation, and financial planning. You will estimate costs for large construction projects, including built-up roofing, modified bitumen, standing seam roofing, painting, and waterproofing tasks, as well as ELITE roofing and repair maintenance services. Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive cost estimates covering labor, materials, and project timelines.
• Analyze product and service cost-efficiency while monitoring real expenses against bids during project progression.
• Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and cross-departmental personnel to devise estimates and address project-related concerns.
• Carry out studies to establish standard labor hours and related costs while identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.
• Assess material and labor requirements to determine the most economical option between production and purchasing.
• Produce estimates to aid management in work planning, organizing, and scheduling.
• Prepare cost, expenditure reports, and other documentation regularly throughout project duration.
• Engage with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors regarding any estimate modifications.
• Generate presentations and reports to clearly communicate estimates and proposals.

Qualifications and Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as an Estimator within the construction domain.
• Proven expertise with various roofing systems including built-up roofing, modified bitumen, and standing seam roofing, alongside painting and waterproofing.
• Background as an ELITE roofing and repair maintenance services estimator is essential.
• Strong grasp of cost management methodologies, project estimation principles, and budgeting techniques.
• Highly developed analytical skills with the capacity to create and manage financial spreadsheets effectively.
• Excellent communication abilities to present complex data in a straightforward and understandable fashion.
• Strong negotiation skills essential for obtaining favorable pricing from suppliers and contractors.
• Capability to perform efficiently under high-pressure conditions and meet strict deadlines.
• Proficiency in applicable software platforms including Microsoft Office and database management systems.
• Preferred educational credentials include a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Certification such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) is considered a plus.

Additional Information

This position offers competitive pay ranging from $85,000 to $120,000 annually along with excellent benefits including a 401K plan, flexible working schedules, and bonus opportunities.
