HEB Construction, part of the global VINCI Construction network, is known for delivering intricate, high-value civil infrastructure projects across New Zealand, including iconic bridges, marine structures, major pipelines, geotechnical systems, and advanced precast solutions. The Structures team leads some of the most technically demanding projects nationwide, supported by extensive resources, innovation, and global expertise.

Position Overview

We seek a people-oriented Estimating Manager to lead and evolve our estimating function. As a site-based manager on one of Marlborough’s key redevelopment projects, you will guide a skilled team of estimators and bid professionals, overseeing strategy, precision, and delivery of project pricing. Your contributions will directly influence project outcomes and legacy.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate early bid strategies ensuring tenders are transparent, innovative, and commercially robust.
• Ensure accuracy, governance, and quality across all project estimations.
• Foster strong collaboration with clients, partners, designers, and internal teams.
• Advocate for constructability, safety, and prudent risk management from inception.
• Shape HEB’s market positioning and support future growth of the Structures division.

Candidate Profile

• Over 10 years’ experience in civil infrastructure estimating, preferably with a background in Structures and/or marine projects.
• Proven leadership in managing teams, influencing organizational culture, and developing capabilities.
• Strong commercial acumen with a commitment to first-principles estimating, ideally in CCS.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and influence skills.
