Job description

Role overview

Peabody is hiring an Estate Services Caretaker to help maintain estates that are clean, safe, and well presented. This is a practical, community-facing position where you will spend your time on site, supporting residents and ensuring communal spaces are kept in good condition.

What the role involves

  • Carry out regular lighting inspections and replace bulbs when needed.
  • Complete cleaning tasks across assigned estate areas.
  • Work alongside colleagues and residents to keep the estate operating safely and efficiently.
  • Act as a visible and approachable presence on site five days per week.

Why this role stands out

This is not a desk-based job. You will be out in the field every day, making a noticeable contribution to the community. A company van is provided to support your work and help you move around the site effectively.

What Peabody is looking for

  • A candidate with a full, clean UK manual driving licence.
  • Previous background in caretaking or cleaning.
  • Comfort and familiarity with powered equipment.
  • Someone who enjoys helping others and takes pride in doing quality work.

Benefits and rewards

  • 30 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Two paid volunteering days each year.
  • Access to a flexible benefits package and a discount portal.
  • Life assurance cover at four times salary.
  • Pension contributions of up to 10%.
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the community.

Important application notes

This position requires a Basic DBS check and a full UK driving licence. Sponsorship is not available for this role. Interviews are taking place on an ongoing basis until Friday 12th June. Applicants should submit an anonymised CV along with a short statement explaining why they are a strong match for the role.
