Role Overview
This position is for an ESG Business Data Analyst based in Singapore. The role focuses on shaping ESG reporting and analytics capabilities by working closely with business and technical teams, turning sustainability needs into practical data solutions, and supporting decision-making through clear insights and reporting frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business teams to capture, analyse, and clearly record requirements related to ESG initiatives.
- Convert business objectives into functional and technical specifications for analytics and data solutions.
- Work alongside data engineering and data science teams to build ESG reporting and analytics capabilities.
- Review ESG data such as carbon emissions, sustainability indicators, and compliance-related information to uncover patterns and insights.
- Help create ESG dashboards, KPIs, and performance monitoring structures.
- Ensure solutions are aligned with recognised ESG frameworks and standards such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, and ISSB.
- Support the design of data models, governance approaches, and data quality rules for ESG reporting.
- Take part in user acceptance testing and check system outputs against agreed requirements.
- Share input on ESG-related products, services, and regulatory implications.
- Prepare documentation including BRDs, FRDs, use cases, and process flow maps.
- Act as a bridge between business users, product teams, and technical stakeholders.
Required Profile
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Data Science, Sustainability, or a similar discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Prior experience as a Business Analyst or in a comparable role, ideally within ESG, sustainability, or financial services.
- Good understanding of ESG principles, sustainability reporting frameworks, and related metrics.
- Hands-on exposure to data analytics, data modelling, and visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Familiarity with data science basics, including statistical analysis and predictive modelling.
- Exposure to SQL and/or Python/R for data analysis is beneficial.
- Experience working in Agile settings and collaborating with teams across functions.
- Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
