Starting from a digital microcredit app available on Android and iOS, the firm has expanded its offerings to include current accounts, savings accounts, debit cards, and advanced POS solutions catering to merchants and agents. Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate environmental and social initiatives to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Advise internal teams on sustainability strategies, risk management, opportunities, and conduct ESG due diligence.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee a corporate Environmental & Social Management System (ESMS) applicable across all business units and operational levels.
  • Collaborate with teams in various business areas to maintain adherence to ESMS frameworks.
  • Partner with Human Resources and business leaders across all regions of operation to support ESG integration.
  • Track progress toward ESG targets and generate periodic impact and sustainability reports.
  • Prepare the company's annual sustainability report.

Framework Compliance

  • Promote and coordinate sustainability and ESG objectives within different business units.
  • Evaluate and update policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure alignment with evolving regulations and corporate directives.
  • Ensure all corporate activities comply with environmental and social policies, management plans, and procedures.
  • Support HR teams with interpreting and implementing local environmental and social laws and maintain compliance monitoring.
  • Lead education, communication, training, and enforcement of ESG policies across all company operations, including relevant subcontractors and supply chains.

Risk Management

  • Collaborate with regional teams to identify ESG compliance risks.
  • Develop strategies to ensure regulatory compliance with ESG standards.
  • Manage and mitigate environmental and social risks and their potential consequences.
  • Conduct ESG risk assessments with assistance from local HR teams.
  • Maintain records of inspections, investigate complaints and suspected violations related to ESG concerns.
  • Oversee follow-up actions and review compliance reports in cases of identified violations.

Candidate Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant area such as Economics, Public Policy, International Politics, or Business.
  • Demonstrated experience or passion for ESG compliance, social responsibility, or sustainability.
  • At least 8 years of professional experience in the ESG field.
  • Experience engaging with development finance institutions.
  • Strong networking abilities and proficiency in collaborating with shareholders and leadership teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with capacity to thrive in fast-paced and ambiguous environments, meeting tight deadlines.
  • Experience in fintech or emerging/developing market environments is considered an advantage.
