Job description
Role Overview
This assignment is for an Arabic-speaking Enterprise Risk Management specialist to support a ministry in Doha, Qatar. The position is onsite and runs for 1 year on a contract basis. The ideal candidate can start immediately or within 30 days.
What You Will Do
- Help strengthen and expand the ministry’s risk management program while maintaining strong working relationships with relevant stakeholders.
- Review legal, regulatory, contractual, policy, and compliance requirements linked to the ministry’s operations and assess how they may affect business goals.
- Work with internal teams across risk, compliance, services, and central functions to shape mitigation plans and manage risks effectively.
- Maintain and improve risk registers so that risk, oversight, and incident information is reported accurately and on time for executive decision-making.
- Track key risk indicators, assess control and risk information, prepare reports, highlight emerging trends, and ensure issues are properly audited and escalated.
- Coordinate periodic reporting cycles to keep updates current and timely.
- Support the rollout of the ministry’s risk management framework, including risk assessment, monitoring, incident investigation, incident reporting, and broader strategic and operational risk practices.
- Partner with other risk professionals to provide data analysis and insight on risks and controls.
- Train and guide risk leaders on framework processes and procedures as needed.
- Assist the Risk and Compliance team in meeting its objectives and connect risk scenarios to the relevant business processes to clarify ownership.
- Represent risk matters in meetings, seminars, workshops, and conferences when required.
- Contribute to analytical tasks, special projects, and other ad hoc responsibilities assigned by the Enterprise Risk Management Department.
Candidate Profile
- A background in science, engineering, business administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Strong command of both Arabic and English is required.
- Experience using risk management platforms is important.
- Professional certifications such as ISO 31000, COSO ERM, Sarbanes-Oxley, GDPR, IRM Certificate, FRM, CBI, CFA, or AML are valued.
- The employer is looking for someone who can join right away or within a 30-day notice period.
