Overview
Daimyo Holdings invites applications for an Equity Research Intern position focused on publicly traded Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical firms. This role involves comprehensive research and assessment of companies with promising growth trajectories, valuable drug pipelines, and undervalued research potential. It is ideally suited for candidates currently undertaking advanced studies in life sciences who are eager to apply their scientific expertise toward investment research.
Key Duties
- Conduct detailed market research to detect promising investment opportunities within the biotech and pharmaceutical realms, emphasizing therapeutic developments.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive activities, and regulatory shifts to guide investment decisions.
- Contribute to constructing and updating financial models, dashboards, and detailed reports.
- Work collaboratively with team members to facilitate investment strategy implementation.
- Translate complex data and market analyses into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
- Assist in crafting research-supported investment theses and preparing comprehensive presentations.
- Stay informed regarding the latest healthcare therapeutic advances and emerging scientific technologies.
- Support the Investment Director in developing a robust portfolio involving public biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and healthcare entities.
- Possibility to participate in relevant industry conferences and events, including occasional international opportunities.
Candidate Profile
- Currently pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related life sciences; candidates in Finance with a strong biotechnology interest will also be considered.
- Prior experience or coursework in research or analytical roles related to investment or healthcare is advantageous, though not mandatory.
- Proficient analytical capabilities, with required knowledge of Excel; familiarity with SQL and Bloomberg Terminal is beneficial.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, able to simplify complex scientific concepts for broad audiences.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude and meticulousness.
Additional Details
This position is an unpaid internship with schedule and duration tailored to the candidate's academic commitments and availability. Regular attendance onsite is mandatory to meet role expectations.
