Role overview
This opportunity sits within a collaborative, high-performance capital markets environment in Toronto. The position is centered on supporting the research analyst covering diversified financials, with an emphasis on building a strong understanding of companies and market dynamics across areas such as alternative asset managers, asset managers/private equity, property and casualty insurance, specialty finance, and exchanges.

What you will do
- Assist the Diversified Financials Research Analyst with day-to-day research support.
- Create, refine, and maintain detailed company-specific models as well as broader industry and macroeconomic financial models.
- Build and update sector databases and presentation materials.
- Develop working relationships with covered companies, investors, and internal stakeholders across Capital Markets.
- Review financial statements, company disclosures, and sector-specific datasets to identify meaningful insights.
- Contribute to research notes and sector reports through drafting and analysis support.
What you need to bring
- An undergraduate degree with a business or finance concentration.
- CA, CMA, CFA, or CFA enrolment is preferred.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Advanced comfort with Excel and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Close attention to detail, strong analytical ability, and the capacity to translate data into broader trends.
- High energy, self-motivation, and the ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines, including for extended periods.
- A process-driven mindset and willingness to learn rapidly on the job.
- Clear interest in equity and financial markets.
Compensation and work details
This is a full-time, regular position based onsite in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at Royal Bank Plaza, 200 Bay St. The role follows a 37.5-hour workweek and is paid on a salaried basis. The expected annual pay range for the position is CAD 80,000 to CAD 115,000. Compensation may also include discretionary variable pay, depending on business performance and individual achievement of goals. Pay can vary by location.
