J. C. Lewis Primary Health Care Center is a federally qualified community health center devoted to offering patient-centric primary care services to underserved populations in Savannah-Chatham County, Georgia. The center provides a comprehensive range of services, including primary care, behavioral health care, dental care, and inpatient respite services. These services are accessible to all individuals, including homeless and low-income uninsured or underinsured persons, without regard to their ability to pay. Position Overview
We are looking for a meticulous Environmental Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and upkeep of our health care facilities, primarily involving janitorial duties. Strong organizational skills and experience in sanitation procedures are essential.
Primary Responsibilities
- Sanitize and clean restrooms, kitchens, patient rooms, and shared areas following standardized hygiene requirements.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish flooring surfaces regularly.
- Dispose of trash properly and empty waste receptacles according to company guidelines.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors to uphold facility aesthetics.
- Replenish supplies in restrooms and communal spaces consistently.
- Follow established safety protocols during all cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety standards and regulations.
- Identify and promptly report any safety risks or maintenance needs to management.
- Prepare and submit reports related to janitorial tasks as required.
- Collaborate with other departments and coordinate with external contractors when necessary.
- Work in harmony with team members to meet shared objectives.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a custodian or in a comparable janitorial role.
- Proficiency in cleaning techniques and janitorial operations.
- Capability to perform physically demanding tasks and safely handle heavy lifting.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to facility maintenance.
- Minimum educational requirement: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational certifications are advantageous.
