Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Environmental Assessor to join our New Jersey office team. Candidates should hold an environmental degree from an accredited institution and bring 2 to 5 years of experience in environmental due diligence, particularly relating to commercial real estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field investigations to gather relevant site information.
  • Review environmental, historical, and regulatory documents thoroughly.
  • Organize and compile project-specific data, including creating site figures and summarizing analytical results.
  • Coordinate tasks among site personnel, regulatory agencies, and internal team members.
  • Undertake research as necessary to fulfill project objectives.
  • Author detailed reports and ensure projects meet deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Plan and communicate project timelines, identify potential challenges, and propose effective solutions.
  • Provide accurate updates on project progress and scope deviations.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies at local, state, and federal levels to obtain required records.
  • Make recommendations grounded in factual evidence to support project conclusions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Physical, or Biological Sciences, or related fields from an accredited institution; relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel when necessary.
  • Experience performing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments preferred.
  • Familiarity with state environmental regulations.
  • Exceptional skills in organization, writing, time management, and multitasking.
  • Effective interpersonal communication abilities across all organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat software.
  • Competence in using Google or similar search engines for research.
  • Experience with Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, site investigations, or remedial investigations is advantageous.

Physical and Language Requirements

  • Must be fluent in English — reading, writing, speaking, and understanding.
  • Must communicate clearly in person, via phone, and email.
  • Able to work both in standard office environments and outdoors under diverse weather conditions.
  • Capabilities include reading from screens and printed materials, close vision, and physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, stretching, reaching, crouching, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
