Job description
Role overview
The Environment & Linen Team supports day-to-day operations across York Hospital by ensuring wards and departments receive fresh linen and by keeping multi-waste utility rooms serviced every day of the year. These behind-the-scenes activities play an important part in helping clinical teams deliver safe and effective patient care.
Key duties
- Sort, prepare and deliver clean linen to wards and departments throughout the site.
- Collect and remove multiple waste streams together with used linen from multi-waste utility areas, using electric tugs where required.
- Step in across the team as needed and carry out any of the duties covered by the service.
- Work collaboratively, supporting colleagues and offering help whenever the situation calls for it.
- Consistently reflect the organisation’s values and expected behaviours in everyday work.
