Job description

Position Overview

We offer a role at Canada’s Wonderland, paying $23.15 per hour, governed by the collective bargaining agreement with IATSE. Compliance with this agreement overrides any conflicting employment offers.

As part of the team, you will ensure guests enjoy exceptional experiences while providing support in costume creation and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in constructing and upkeeping costumes, worn props, masks, prosthetics, and fabric decorations as designated.
  • Conduct daily cleaning and repairs of assigned costumes.
  • Maintain positive relationships with guests and colleagues at all times.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and standards.
  • Follow all Canada’s Wonderland policies as outlined by the park and the Entertainment Department.
  • Carry out additional assigned duties, including cleaning break rooms, backstage areas, and supporting rehearsals, meetings, and feedback sessions.

Qualifications

  • Current students or graduates of post-secondary programs specializing in theatrical wardrobe, costuming, or fashion are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience operating industrial and domestic costume-related equipment such as sewing machines, sergers, irons, steamers, and laundry tools is essential.
  • Proficiency in sewing diverse fabrics, including knits, and skilled hand sewing techniques.
  • Knowledge of adhesives beneficial for costume upkeep.
  • Understanding of fabrics and their care methods.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
