Job description

About the Role

This remote contractor position is centered on English quality assurance leadership for AI training work. You will oversee the consistency, accuracy, and performance of trainers and QA contributors across projects that support AI model development.

Your day-to-day work will involve reviewing AI-produced English content as well as the output of trainers and QA reviewers, comparing it with project rules, and delivering clear written feedback. You will check for correctness, clarity, logic, grammar, tone, formatting, and compliance with task-specific rubrics.

The role also includes identifying repeated quality problems, sharing updates with contributors, helping onboard new team members, keeping documentation current, and re-engaging contributors who are inactive or inconsistent.

This is part of a fast-scaling AI data services organization that supplies training data to major AI companies and foundation model teams. Your work will directly contribute to improving the quality of AI models by keeping training data accurate, consistent, and aligned with client expectations.

There is no immediate project attached to this role. If you qualify, you may be contacted first when relevant opportunities open up, and you may also gain access to future projects through the expert network.

Responsibilities

  • Review submitted work, identify quality issues, share feedback through direct messages, and escalate recurring or serious concerns.
  • Keep trainers and QAs informed on Discord about guideline changes, workflow updates, project changes, and expected quality standards.
  • Answer contributor questions quickly and clearly so instructions and edge cases are understood correctly.
  • Reach out to inactive or unproductive contributors, encourage re-engagement, track follow-ups, and flag availability concerns when necessary.
  • Build and maintain project materials such as style guides, trackers, FAQs, quality notes, examples, honeypots, and onboarding resources.
  • Plan and run onboarding or training calls to walk trainers and QAs through expectations, workflows, rubrics, and quality benchmarks.
  • Make sure all contributors apply the guidelines in a consistent way and stay aligned as project requirements change.
  • Spot recurring quality gaps, suggest process improvements, and help create scalable QA systems for future work.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in English, Linguistics, Communications, Journalism, Education, AI/Data Annotation, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
  • Excellent command of written English, including grammar, clarity, tone, structure, and high-quality written feedback.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in quality assurance, editing, content review, AI training, education, annotation, localization QA, or similar review-based work.
  • Prior experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QA staff is preferred.
  • Strong ability to apply detailed rubrics and guidelines, detect quality issues, and explain problems in a constructive way.
  • Clear communication skills for answering questions, sharing updates, and giving actionable written feedback.
  • Comfort working in fast-paced remote environments with tools such as Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management software.
  • High attention to detail and strong organization skills for managing style guides, FAQs, trackers, onboarding materials, honeypots, and other documentation.
  • Dependable, self-managed, and able to handle contributor activation, follow-ups, escalations, and quality checks across time zones.
  • Experience with AI training, data annotation, large language models, prompt and response review, or rubric-based LLM QA is an added advantage.
