Job description

Role Overview

We are looking for an English Language Expert to support AI training work in a remote contractor setup. In this hourly role, you will examine AI-produced English responses and, when needed, create expert-level language content. The work centers on checking whether answers are accurate, clear, logically sound, and faithful to the prompt, while also identifying issues in reasoning, meaning, method, or conceptual understanding.

You will also be expected to verify facts where necessary, produce strong explanations and revised versions that demonstrate the correct approach, and compare multiple AI outputs to judge which one is more accurate and better reasoned. This position is part of a fast-growing AI data services company that supplies training data to major AI companies and foundation model labs. Your language expertise will help improve AI systems so their outputs become more precise, natural, and well explained.

There is no active project available immediately for this role. However, if you are a strong fit, you may be contacted first when relevant assignments become available, and you may also gain access to future work through the expert network.

Responsibilities

  • Review AI-generated English responses and evaluate them for correctness, clarity, and alignment with the prompt.
  • Spot mistakes in logic, meaning, methodology, or conceptual understanding, and provide clear written corrections.
  • Fact-check information whenever required to confirm accuracy.
  • Write high-quality explanations and improved model responses that show the proper method or reasoning.
  • Compare and rate multiple AI outputs based on accuracy, fluency, and the quality of reasoning.
  • Create detailed prompts and responses across different topics to support AI training.
  • Assess and rank AI answers to improve contextual relevance, fluency, and overall model quality.
  • Test AI models for errors and possible bias to help validate reliability across use cases.

Requirements

  • Holding a bachelor’s degree or higher in Linguistics, English, Translation/Localization, Communications, Journalism, or a closely related field.
  • Advanced command of English, with C2 or native-level ability preferred and at least C1 proficiency required.
  • Professional proficiency in one additional language is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of grammar, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, discourse structure, and style editing across different registers.
  • Excellent precision in detecting meaning shifts, ambiguity, inconsistencies, and subtle language errors.
  • Ability to explain corrections and editorial decisions clearly in writing.
  • Comfort using style guides and maintaining consistency in tone, terminology, punctuation, and capitalization.
  • Self-managed, dependable, and capable of delivering steady quality in a remote hourly contractor environment across time zones.
  • Prior exposure to AI data training, annotation, editorial QA, localization QA, or professional copyediting is highly desirable.
  • Practical experience with tools such as Perplexity, Gemini, ChatGPT, and similar platforms.

Additional Information

This position is structured as a contract role and is remote. The pay model is hourly, but the source does not specify a numeric rate. The original listing also notes that this is a future-opportunity role rather than an immediately available project.
