Job description
Position Summary
The Assistant Professor I, General Education is tasked with the creation, management, instruction, and assessment of students within the College's general education courses. This position involves guiding and supporting students, and monitoring their academic progress in alignment with course objectives and established schedules, reporting to the Director of General Education.
Role and Responsibilities
- Deliver instruction primarily through online didactic courses.
- Provide assistance to students facing academic challenges and assess their potential for success in the course or field.
- Maintain precise records of student attendance and performance.
- Submit all necessary reports by their designated deadlines.
- Engage in annual professional development activities.
- Participate in faculty meetings and other required faculty events.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Possession of a Master's Degree in a pertinent subject from an accredited higher education institution.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in higher education, with a preference for online learning environments.
- At least 1 year of teaching experience, with online teaching being advantageous.
- Completion of a minimum of 18 credit hours of direct study within the specific discipline being taught.
Budgeted Hiring Range
$60,000—$60,000 USD
Additional Information
All newly hired employees must complete New Collaborator Orientation (NCO) in Salt Lake City, Utah. The College will cover all associated travel, lodging, and accommodation expenses.
