Job description

Role overview

This position focuses on workshop services and maintenance planning for instrumentation systems at the site. The objective is to keep operations running smoothly and reliably while following legal requirements, safety standards, and company procedures.

Key responsibilities

The role is expected to cover the main duties listed below, along with any other work assigned by supervisors as needed.

  • Follow approved policies, procedures, standard operating methods, and maintenance instructions so work is executed in a disciplined and consistent way.
  • Stay updated on current best practices and emerging trends, and contribute ideas that improve systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Prepare test procedures and templates, and help standardize instrumentation improvement practices using group guidelines.
  • Support the preparation of workshop instrumentation maintenance budgets and cost estimates, and suggest ways to optimize resources and planning.
  • Build daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules for instrumentation activities in coordination with planning and plant maintenance teams.
  • Track workshop maintenance KPIs and work to ensure targets are consistently achieved.
  • Carry out important instrumentation maintenance work while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Coordinate with other teams and follow up on external repair jobs; also oversee maintenance of related instrumentation equipment in common site areas.
  • Help execute planned shutdown and turnaround activities for instrumentation equipment and systems, including testing and calibration on time.
  • Assist with spare parts management by identifying parts, monitoring stock levels, checking incoming materials, and supporting the availability and standardization of critical spares.
  • Support troubleshooting of major issues, and carry out repair and refurbishment of instrumentation equipment and components.
  • Prepare compliance documentation and help ensure adherence to statutory and HSE requirements, including RESOP, CASHe, and mandatory HSEF trainings.
  • Maintain repair records, test records, MIS reports, and other maintenance documentation accurately and on time.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology with an Instrumentation or Electronics specialization is required. A master’s degree in the same streams is preferred.

Experience

Applicants should have 1 to 3 years of experience in industrial or instrumentation workshop maintenance.

Required knowledge and capabilities

  • Understanding of relevant codes and standards.
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation engineering.
  • Hands-on familiarity with instrumentation workshop practices.
  • Clear communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple teams.
  • Analytical thinking for planning and problem-solving.
  • Self-driven approach and good time management.
