About the Organization
Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), Pune, is a leading automotive research institute working under the Ministry of Heavy Industries. Its work spans research and development, homologation, testing and certification, calibration, and skill development for automotive and allied industries worldwide.
Role Overview
ARAI is hiring an Engineer in the Automotive Electronics Department for its Automotive Cyber Security function. This is a regular position based in Kothrud, Pune, with one opening available.
What the Role Involves
The position focuses on automotive cyber security and related work across embedded systems, vehicle electronics, communication protocols, and security validation. The role requires hands-on technical understanding of automotive architectures, software and hardware interfaces, and cyber security testing practices.
- Work on automotive cyber security activities across electronics and embedded platforms.
- Support development and analysis tasks related to automotive electronics, embedded systems, and programming.
- Use knowledge of vehicle communication protocols such as CAN, CAN FD, CAN XL, LIN, and FlexRay.
- Understand vehicle connectivity technologies including USB, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
- Apply awareness of electrical architecture used in modern automobiles.
- Write and work with code in C, C++, MATLAB, and Python.
- Apply relevant standards and regulations such as ISO/SAE 21434, AIS 189, ECE R-155, AIS 190, ECE R-156, and ISO/SAE 24089.
- Perform penetration testing on automotive electronic components such as ECUs.
- Carry out fuzz testing on automotive electronics components.
- Conduct Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment using tools like CycurRISK and Medini.
- Perform vulnerability scans and static code analysis on automotive electronics components.
- Support backend server penetration testing.
- Test Android and iOS mobile applications from a penetration testing perspective.
Experience Required
Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience with the required skills and domain knowledge.
Other Requirements
- A certification in ethical hacking techniques will be considered an added advantage.
- The candidate must be willing to travel as needed.
