About the Role

Lockwood Publishing Ltd is seeking engineers at various seniority levels to join their engineering team, working remotely from the United Kingdom. The team develops Avakin Life, a live service mobile game enjoyed by millions worldwide. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software primarily using Unity and C#.
• Implement features and systems to enhance overall player engagement and experience.
• Produce clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested codebases.
• Address and resolve technical challenges inherent to large-scale live game services.
• Identify simplification opportunities to boost engineering efficiency.
• Balance innovative approaches with timely delivery.
• Collaborate closely with cross-disciplinary teams including Designers, Artists, Producers, QA, and Data.
• Communicate clearly, share knowledge openly, and proactively escalate risks.
• Utilize AI responsibly to speed up development, enhance code quality, and increase productivity.
• Maintain a proactive curiosity about emerging technologies and exercise sound technical judgment.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in software development with C#, or solid foundational programming skills.
• Genuine passion for gaming, technology, and ongoing learning.
• Collaborative mindset with eagerness to share expertise.
• Interest and curiosity towards AI-assisted development and contemporary engineering methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Unity or involvement in mobile/live-service gaming projects.
• Familiarity with performance optimization or backend/cloud infrastructure technologies.
• Active participation in game jams, open-source communities, or personal coding projects.
• Mentoring or leadership experience in technical environments.
