Position Overview
As the Lead for Energy Research & Analysis, based in Toronto, Ontario, you will work in a hybrid setting involving both remote work and onsite participation for meetings and events. You will be a self-motivated professional with a strong background in energy policy, regulations, and public engagement. The role offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment where collaboration and diverse responsibilities are encouraged, supporting a supportive team culture with flexible working hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously from inception to completion, establishing detailed project scopes, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations while providing regular status updates to management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with the program director and coordinate project teams and external partners to ensure successful results.
- Support business development by drafting proposals and preparing materials to secure sponsorship and funding.
- Conduct comprehensive research including literature reviews, jurisdictional scans, interviews, and surveys, then communicate findings to partners, funders, and the public.
- Develop a variety of outputs such as detailed research reports, public education resources, background documents, and digital content tailored for diverse audiences.
- Monitor current trends and changes in energy policy, regulatory frameworks, and market developments, assessing their impact on organizational objectives.
- Create and deliver presentations for technical and general audiences, and organize webinars on relevant energy topics.
- Contribute to other related projects and organizational initiatives as needed, supporting Pollution Probe's overall mission.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- University degree in environmental studies or a related discipline.
- Three to five years of experience managing complex projects with proven successful outcomes.
- Three to five years analyzing Canadian energy policies, regulations, and business models.
- Track record of producing high-quality research documentation.
- Experience in creating public education materials for print and digital platforms, including websites and social media.
- Strong strategic thinking, planning ability, and business development expertise.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with effective presentation capabilities.
- Competence in proposal development and sponsorship acquisition.
- Strong interpersonal skills for team collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
- Attention to detail with robust administrative, coordination, time management, and budgeting abilities.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this permanent, full-time role is between $60,000 and $70,000 annually. Additional benefits include health and dental coverage, flexible working hours, generous vacation allowance, and other perks aimed at fostering work-life balance.
