Position overview
This contract opportunity is for an experienced Employee Relations Consultant to support the Human Resources function remotely for a 3-month assignment, with the possibility of an extension. The role operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. In this position, you will act as a reliable advisor to HR leadership and managers, offering practical guidance on employee relations, workplace investigations, performance concerns, employment law adherence, and policy interpretation.
Key responsibilities
- Work closely with managers, mainly at the Assistant Vice President level and below, to help resolve a broad range of employee relations matters.
- Lead investigations related to employee complaints, policy breaches, and other delicate workplace issues.
- Guide managers through corrective action decisions, performance management, discipline, and involuntary separations.
- Draft and support responses to EEOC charges and other compliance-related matters.
- Provide coaching to managers and employees on conflict management, workplace issues, and sound HR practices.
- Spot patterns in employee relations concerns and suggest improvements to HR processes and practices.
- Act as a knowledgeable resource on federal, state, and local employment laws to support compliance and reduce organizational exposure.
- Review and apply company policies while advising both leaders and employees on proper interpretation.
- Partner with Senior HR Business Partners and HR leadership to create, update, and roll out HR policies and procedures.
- Assist with employee engagement efforts and organizational change initiatives when needed.
- Keep documentation accurate and handle sensitive employee information with strict confidentiality.
Required qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in Employee Relations and/or HR Generalist roles.
- Proven background in conducting workplace investigations and handling complex employee relations situations.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Experience advising managers on performance management, disciplinary action, and employment-related decisions.
- Well-developed communication, interpersonal, coaching, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Comfort and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Capability to work independently in a remote setting while balancing several priorities at once.
Additional information
Interviews for this role will be held on camera with both the hiring team and the client, and the sessions will be recorded for future reference.
Candidates must already have the legal right to work in the United States, as sponsorship for work authorization or visas is not available for this role.

Schedule and duration
This is a remote contract role expected to last 3 months, with a chance of extension. The working schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
