The job calls for active monitoring of premises, routine patrols, access management, and fast action when incidents or emergencies occur. The role also includes recording security-related events, communicating with clients and team members, following established procedures to reduce risk, and protecting property. Flexibility is important, as the role may involve both short-term and long-term assignments and changing shift schedules, while maintaining a high standard of professionalism.

  • Strong spoken communication and the ability to write clear incident reports.
  • A trustworthy, professional, and service-oriented approach.
  • Comfortable working shifts and remaining on foot or standing for long periods while handling basic physical security duties safely.
  • Prior background in security, law enforcement, or a similar field is an advantage.
  • Valid New Zealand security credentials or the ability to obtain them.
