Role Overview
We are seeking an Electronics Technician to join our Manufacturing Engineering team based in Hamilton. Multiple shift options are available including day, afternoon, and night shifts, allowing alignment with personal availability and operational requirements.
Working under the Test Engineering Lead, this role provides essential hands-on technical support to manufacturing teams. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting faults, maintaining product quality, and collaborating closely with Production, Test Engineering, Production Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality departments.
This position is shop-floor focused, ideal for someone who enjoys practical problem solving, teamwork, and making a tangible impact in a dynamic manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair electronic products to meet production goals.
- Prioritize repair tasks in coordination with factory supervisors.
- Diagnose product faults, determine root causes, and communicate insights to production teams.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records through repair management software.
- Provide support to Production Engineering and related technical teams.
- Uphold strict health and safety standards.
- Keep the work environment clean, organized, and compliant with 6S methodologies.
- Actively contribute suggestions for continual process, quality, and efficiency improvements.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will demonstrate a practical and solution-minded work ethic and take pride in delivering quality results within a manufacturing context. Available for day, afternoon, or night shifts, candidates should be adaptable to operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- NZQA qualification or Diploma in Electronics.
- Experience in electronics servicing or repair settings.
- Prior employment in manufacturing or production environments.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Motivated, dependable, with a commitment to high-quality work.
- Collaborative approach with good stakeholder engagement capabilities.
