Role overview
Ventia is looking to add two Electrical Fitters or Electricians to its Christchurch team. This is a full-time permanent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work outdoors, varied days, and long-term growth with a well-established infrastructure services organisation.

What you will do
You will support Transpower’s national grid and work as part of a highly experienced crew on important electricity infrastructure. The work is practical, hands-on, and focused on keeping critical network assets operating safely and reliably.
- Fit, maintain, and commission high-voltage equipment such as transformers, switchgear, protection relays, and VT/CTs.
- Carry out low-voltage electrical tasks inside substations.
- Assist with national grid upgrade and asset replacement programmes.
- Help ensure essential electricity network sites remain safe and dependable in operation.
What you need
- Current EWRB registration and a valid practising licence.
- A full New Zealand Class 1 driver licence with a clean record; a Class 2 licence would be an advantage.
- Proven electrical experience, preferably within the high-voltage sector.
- Good communication skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
- Strong commitment to health and safety.
