Job description
Role overview
This position is suited to a qualified electrician who is ready to move into a Line Mechanic pathway and contribute to the electricity network that supports local communities. The work is practical, outdoors, and varied, with a mix of pole work, bucket truck tasks, fault response, and network upgrade activities.
What you’ll do
You will work on both overhead and underground power lines, helping install, service, and repair the infrastructure that carries electricity across the network. Day to day work may involve operating at height, working with a crew, and responding to issues that arise in challenging weather and pressure situations.
Training and career pathway
This role is designed as a transition for electricians who want a different direction. Full support is provided, including paid training and certifications, guidance from experienced team members, and a structured pathway toward recognised Line Mechanic qualifications. You will continue earning while you learn, without having to fund study yourself.
Why consider the move
For electricians wanting more variety, outdoor work, and a specialist trade path, this role offers a chance to expand your skills and enter a field with strong long-term potential. It also creates opportunities for progression and stronger earning prospects over time.
