About the Role

ISS International SpA is hiring an experienced Electrical Project Engineer for a client in the fertilizer sector in Mesaieed, Qatar.

Job Purpose

This position is responsible for organizing, prioritizing, carrying out, tracking, and steering projects in a structured and efficient way. When assigned as a project coordinator, the role includes working closely with team members, multiple trades, and other stakeholders to keep projects moving smoothly. The engineer will also contribute as part of discipline teams on projects, supporting the discipline-specific scope and deliverables.

The role also involves preparing inputs for periodic reports, updating KPIs and CAPEX-related information within the assigned area, and maintaining effective cost control on projects.

Engineering and Project Management Responsibilities

The selected candidate will manage assigned project activities as either a coordinator or a discipline team member, ensuring that objectives are achieved with the required quality, within the agreed timeline, scope, budget, design basis, specifications, risk controls, and health, safety, energy, and environmental standards. All work must follow project handling procedures, delegation of authority, and the project execution manual.

The role requires regular communication with the project requisitioner, internal and external stakeholders, team members, and representatives from production and maintenance to support timely and effective project execution.

Regular project reporting is expected, covering cost, schedule, cost phasing, forecasting, accruals, KPI updates, and scorecard variances, along with participation in routine review meetings.

Education and Experience

A bachelor's degree in a relevant field from a recognized university is required.

The position calls for more than 12 years of direct and relevant experience in large EPCC projects within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or fertilizer industries. Experience with ammonia and urea fertilizer plants or projects will be considered an advantage.
