Role Summary

We are looking for a careful and analytical Electrical Inspector with a focus on streetlighting systems to join the Roads Operations and Maintenance team in Doha, Qatar. The role centers on inspecting streetlighting assets, confirming compliance with electrical standards, and helping keep road lighting systems safe and fully functional.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine and structured checks on streetlighting installations, fixtures, and related electrical parts across road networks.
  • Use appropriate test instruments to assess equipment performance and confirm electrical safety compliance.
  • Record inspection outcomes, defects, and maintenance needs in clear and detailed reports following established procedures.
  • Spot electrical risks, safety breaches, and any areas of non-compliance, then suggest corrective measures.
  • Confirm that streetlighting works align with relevant electrical codes, technical standards, and regulatory obligations.
  • Work with maintenance teams to make sure identified issues are addressed without delay.
  • Keep accurate and well-organized logs of inspection schedules, findings, and follow-up actions.
  • Conduct quality checks on newly installed or repaired streetlighting systems.
  • Investigate lighting breakdowns and faults to identify the underlying cause.
  • Ensure inspection work follows health, safety, and environmental requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Prior experience working as an electrical inspector or in a similar inspection-focused electrical role.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of streetlighting systems and road lighting infrastructure.
  • Good understanding of electrical codes, standards, and safety rules relevant to streetlighting.
  • Ability to operate electrical testing tools and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters and insulation testers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal certification in electrical inspection or a related electrical discipline.
  • Background in streetlighting maintenance and repair activities.
  • Exposure to municipal or government infrastructure standards.
  • Experience using computerized systems for inspection tracking and reporting.
  • Knowledge of Qatar electrical regulations and local technical standards.
