About the Role

Following ongoing expansion and a recent acquisition by Katoen Natie, South Coast Logistics, Ireland’s premier hazardous transport and logistics firm, is enhancing its Health & Safety team. This role offers the opportunity to build expertise in Health & Safety across various transport and logistics sectors including ADR road tankers and tank containers, container depot operations, the petroleum sector (aviation and retail), waste management, emergency response, and chemical handling.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out site inspections to ensure safety compliance
  • Assist with performing risk assessments
  • Support management to maintain regulatory compliance
  • Maintain and update performance reports
  • Contribute to accident investigations
  • Ensure adherence to SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) standards
  • Participate actively in audits
  • Monitor proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Track and report on company’s CO2 emissions footprint
  • Support and deliver SHEQ training programs
  • Engage in emergency response drills and exercises
  • Report any safety, quality risks, or improvement opportunities to supervisors
  • Coordinate Health & Safety committees across the company
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications & Experience

  • Certificate, diploma, or degree in Health and Safety, or alternatively, over five years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 22000 is preferred
  • Previous auditing experience
  • Fluent English communication skills, both oral and written
  • Experience with emergency or incident response is an added advantage
  • Background in Transport & Logistics sectors is highly beneficial
